Welcome to my blog! I’m a 22-year-old recent college grad from UC Berkeley.
I am moving to Boston with my high school sweetheart so that he can go to Harvard while I start my career in accounting. I started this blog as an outlet for my crazy need to always be talking and thinking about running, and as a helpful tool to keep me on track as I start working. You can look forward to some great running, traveling, cooking, and reading!
We have been together for FIVE crazy years… Yep, that makes us high school sweethearts! We met in high school in Oregon and decided to come to college together when both of us got in at Cal (what a coincidence, right?!).
I grew up playing competitive soccer with all of my friends, but I stopped playing in high school when I wasn’t good anymore so it wasn’t fun digging it anymore. My mom had always been a casual runner and I wanted to stay active, so I joined the cross country team with my other friend who was leaving soccer. I LOVED the team and the practices, but I really hated races. You see, I’m not actually very fast… should I have told you that at the top of the page? But really, I just loved running with my friends and racing took the fun out of it for me.
In college I started training for my first half marathon with my mom (who was in Oregon). The whole training experience completely changed the way I felt about my body and the way I treated it. I can’t imagine going back now. I am a completely changed person because of distance running. I have now run too many half marathons to count and I am working on adding to my marathon count. I ran my first full in January, 2010 in Disney World.
